Experience two walk-through, state-of-the-art, fully immersive haunted attractions at the Motor City Roots Festival: Haunted Edition, set against the backdrop of the captivating Eloise Asylum. Originating in Wayne County, Michigan in 1832 as a poorhouse, the institution expanded over time to become a sprawling complex spread across 902 acres, housing numerous buildings.


With its primary focus shifting towards psychiatric care in the late 1800s, the asylum gained recognition for its pioneering medical approaches, alongside the enigmatic tales surrounding its residents.     Only VIP passes allow for re-entry into the festival.

    Yes! Food trucks will be outside.
  • What should I know about booze?
    You MUST be 21+ to drink. Please drink responsibly. Do not drink and drive. Do not buy a drink for anyone under 21. You will not be served if you are under 21, don’t have a photo ID proving you are at least 21, and/or are intoxicated.

  • I have special dietary/medical needs. Will my special items be allowed in?
    Outside food and drink is not allowed at the Motor City Roots Festival. A patron requiring insulin is allowed to bring his or her medically necessary materials and medications, provided all medicine has a prescription label with the patron’s name.
